1966 BSA A65 Spitfire MK11 650cc. The MK11 was the first road going Spitfire sold in the UK, and was the fastest production 650cc BSA motorcycle at that time, and the MK11 was only available in 1966. There was never a MK1, as the Spitfire name was initially used for a US market scrambler. This genuine MK11 Spitfire retains it’s original registration number, has it’s original Buff Log Book present, as well as a current V5C registration document. There is also the original Amal GP2 carburetter handbook present, as well as description and tuning instruction paperwork relating to the BSA GP2 carburetter, original instruction books, and an original 1966 road test, previous MOT test certificates, and receipts present for parts purchased. The Spitfire is a matching numbers bike and runs and sounds glorious, and still has it’s original 190mm full width front hub fitted, and it’s original deep flanged alloy wheel rims. The Spitfire hasn’t been on the road for the last year, so will need light recommissioning, and there’s a new pair of fork gaiters present for the bike. The original Amal GP2 carburetters are present and are sold with the bike, as Amal concentric carburetters that are currently fitted, as the stop start riding with Amal GP2 carburetters fitted, wasn’t considered a pleasant experience, and from the Spitfire MK111 onwards, Amal concentric carburetters were fitted as standard. The A65 Spitfire MK11 is a rare, desirable, and usable classic, that still turns heads.
We do have a video of the Spitfire running should any interested parties wish to see it.
