1967 BSA A65 Lightning 650cc. This is a stunning looking A65 has been styled to replicate the American Spitfire model. The BSA has a large history file, to include MOT test certificates, road tax discs, and receipts for parts and work carried out. A considerable amount of money spent has been spent, twelve hundred pounds alone in SRM receipts. Some of the work includes SRM clutch with multi friction 7 plate kit, Lucas alternator 3 phase 180W upgrade, rebore with barrels shot blasted and stove enamelled, new main bearings, big end shells, crank shims for end float, valves and guides. That’s just part of the work that has been carried out, as well as lots of other work and new parts. The A65 has an inline oil filter fitted. The engine is a Thunderbolt, with a twin carb head fitted, for which new carbs were purchased. The A65 has deep flanged Akront alloy wheel rims fitted, which compliment the Alloy peanut petrol tank. There is a small dent in the corner of the tank, as can be seen in the photos, but this doesn’t detract from the look of the bike. A metal finisher would be able to remove the dent if necessary. The BSA starts easily, and all of the electrics work, but hasn’t been used recently, so would benefit from light recommissioning. A very clean and tidy BSA classic.

We do have a video of the BSA running, should any interested parties wish to see it.
