1958 Velocette Venom Cafe Racer. The Venom had been owned since the 1960’s by the same owner, until it came to us. The Venom has an Alton electric starter kit fitted, so can start on the button, or on the kick starter. The bike runs nicely, and all of the electrics work, and hasn’t been changed in appearance since the 1960’s. The petrol tank is fibreglass, which has been sealed, so it doesn’t leak. The Venom is a non matching numbers bike, as the engine casings sustained damage back in the 1960’s, and the only casings available to the owner at the time were Viper casings, so the original casings were replaced with the Viper ones. The Venom represents good value, considering an Alton electric starter kit alone will cost around 2k to buy, and is sold with a current V5C registration document.
